After a year of living aboard, I thought I might share with you some of the items I have found to be most useful. Maybe these items will enhance your lady sailing friend’s live aboard experience too!

This type of headphone works great when you want to listen to music during watches especially at night when everyone is asleep.
2. 10000mAh Portable Rechargeable Clip on Fan, 8 inch USB Battery Operated, 4 Speed Fan
These fans are a life saver in hot weather. You can clip them in the berth at night, in the galley or in the saloon. When fully charged, they will run all night at low or medium speed without being plugged into the USB charger. We have several on the boat and I simply love them!
I can charge this power bank during the daytime when we have plenty of solar and then it keeps my phone and other devices charged at night without further drain to the boat batteries. It does not need to be frequently charged.
4. Marchway Waterproof Dry Bags
These waterproof bags come in several different sizes which is helpful. Sometimes I just want to keep my fanny pack dry and not carry a big bag. Other times, I need a larger bag to keep purchases dry when going to and from the dinghy.
5. LocknLock Easy Essentials Specialty Dozen Egg Storage Container, 12 Cup
After I dumped a whole carton of eggs on the floor shuffling items around in my small fridge, I decided that an investment in a locking egg storage container was needed. This storage container has worked perfectly.
6. Aobosi Portable Induction Cooktop
I have 2 burners on my propane stove, but sometimes, I can only use one burner because the pan is too large for me to the use the second burner. So this little hob comes in handy. In addition, this hob heats up the cabin less than the propane stove. It’s a good option when it is hot outside.
7. Gear Aid Zipper Cleaner and Lubricant
This might be one of the best stocking stuffers you can get a sailor! I have had several zippers corrode so much they would not open and after applying this wonderful product, they become unstuck and begin working again. However, it is best to be preventative and apply to all the zippers including laptop bags, luggage, purses, and other important items.
8. Dock & Bay Quick Drying Towel Sets
These towels are perfect for taking to the beach, toting to the marina showers, or simply using every day on the boat. They dry quickly in a damp boat environment, and they are easily washed and dried at the laundry mat.
9. SANNO Adhesive & Suction Shower/Kitchen Caddy
We have these basket in every head, in the galley and by the chart table. They work for shampoo/conditioner, drinking cups, sunscreen, small flashlights and many more items. I love them!
10. KitchenAid Cordless Hand Mixer, 7 Speed
This mixer is amazing. It is rechargeable and holds its charge for months without usage. It is lightweight and so easy to use without worrying about stringing a cord across the galley. I have been so pleased with this mixer, that I wished I had had one when I lived in my land-based home.
I hope you find this list of items useful as you buy your last minute gifts! Merry Christmas and sail on!
