So we got invited to Washington DC by people we had only “met” through Facebook and we decided to take the risk and say “yes”!

Once we crossed the Bay Bridge into Annapolis we decided it was time for lunch:

We had the most delightful weekend with the most gracious hosts! On Saturday they took us to Great Falls and it was amazing! The Chesapeake and Ohio canal, with its tow path, paralleled the Potomac River starting in Georgetown with 74 locks along the way.

Back in Burke, VA our new found friends hosted a fabulous German Pizza Party with their family: FlammKuchen, cooked in an outdoor fire burning oven.

After our lovely weekend in D.C., we decided to see a few sights on the way home. We had lunch in St. Michaels at Foxy’s (cause we love the BVI’s Foxy’s). They were out of Pusser’s Rum, so we were not graced with Painkillers, but the sangria was some of the best ever!

What an awesome weekend! Sometimes it pays to take a risks! and meet special people along the way!
