Ben was really tired of hearing the dishes that came with the boat clang and bang. He wanted quieter dishes. So we invested in dishes from West Marine, Galleyware. I really like how they look, but functionally they have some flaws. After reading the literature that came with them, we found you cannot put them in the microwave, use steak (serrated) knifes on them or pour bowling water in the coffee cups or bowls. So I ended up having to keep some of the old dishes anyway. Nevertheless, they are quieter and they will not slide off the table as they have rubber footings.
We also decided to upgrade our pots and pans from the tired, sad looking charter cookware. We opted for nesting, nonstick MagnumCookware. I believe we will be Very happy with this selection! The Boat Galley gives them an excellent review.
