One of the reasons I prefer to sail in the Caribbean than up the east coast of USA is because I love to swim and snorkel. I am fascinated by the sea life and coral. I enjoy watching the fish dart through the coral, chase each other or just sway with the current. Swimming in a fishbowl among the boulders and coral takes me to a happy place like no other. Please enjoy this pictorial of three fun places we snorkeled this fall of 2024.
Bequia, Point at Princess Margaret Beach
While snorkeling here has changed a bit since Hurricane Beryl raced through, there were still an abundance of sea life. The down side was that much of the rock and coral was covered with some type of moss. Contrast with pictures from Fish and Turtles and Lobster, Oh My!!!
St. Lucia, Anse Cochon Coastline
This was the first time we have had the pleasure of snorkeling at this beach. We had visited Anse Cochon several times before but either did not bring our snorkel gear or it was way too rough. The conditions this time were perfect with calm clear water, and sunny skies. The coastline was covered in large boulders displaying various types of coral with fish swimming among them.
Ti Kaye resort located on the beach was aways so inviting that we loved to go there to the enjoy the beach and have a bite of lunch. The staff were extremely friendly, polite and attentive.
Martinique, Les Anses d’Arlet
This cute waterfront town was bustling when we arrived. The snorkel area was so close to shore that we swam to it from our dinghy at the pier. It was amazing that this reef, so close to shore, was teaming with fish (and sometimes turtles). The variety of fish was spectacular as they frolicked among the boulders.
We love when Ron visits as he loves everything about the cruising life, snorkeling, eating, fixing the boat or simply relaxing.
Thanks Daggers Down for taking us up and down the island chain so that we can explore God’s wonders.
