1. Ninja BC151NV Blast Portable Blender, Cordless, 18oz. Vessel, Personal Blender
One of the things that my husband and I have missed while living on a boat is protein bars and drinks. These are hard to find in the Caribbean and if they are found, they are quite expensive. For several years, I have tried to transport these items from the states, but they are heavy and bulky. So this year I decided purchase a rechargeable portable blender that was easier to clean than my regular blender so that we could make protein smoothies. This has turned out to be a wonderful solution to a quick breakfast or lunch, especially with all the fruit on the island as well as homemade yogurt.
2. French For Cruisers: The Boater’s Complete Language Guide for French Waters
A friend told us about this book, and it is extremely helpful when visiting any of the French Islands. It is very well laid out and easy to use. (There is also one for Spanish too!)
3. Instant Pot Official Springform Pan, 7.5-Inch, Gray
We are learning to bake in our instant pot because it does not heat up the boat. This springform pan is so much easier than forming a mold out of foil. 4. LuminAID LED String Lights – 2-Pack of 32ft USB Lights with 100 LED Bulbs per Strand
A friend of ours gave us a string of camp lights that we have found useful in lighting up our cockpit both for ambiance and locating our boat in the dark. They are very resilient to the outdoor elements.
5. OIWAS Small Rolling Duffle Bag with Wheels Travel 22 inch Carry On Luggage Tote; Expandable 50L to 60L
I bought this bag as a carry on, and it works extremely well for bringing all kinds of things back from the states to the boat. I like that it is expandable. It fits nicely under the seat or in an overhead bin. I realize some cruiser do not like wheels on their luggage, but this bag is small enough to carry on the boat, but is a life saver in large airports like Miami!
6. 32 Degrees Women’s Cool Racerback Bra Dress
One of my friends bought me this dress and now I am in love with it! It is comfortable and most of all cool! Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed!
Skin Care Products
Because we basically live outside when cruising on a boat, skincare has become a major focus for me. With the help of a dermatologist, I have made some significant changes in my skin care routines. I thought I’d share some of these stocking stuffers with you as I think your female cruiser friends will love them!
For years I have had difficulty with chapped lips, but when I went to the doctor and complained of my chapped lips, she said that’s not chapped lips that’s precancer. Wow what a major eye opening. I am now using this product regularly, and it had been a game changer.
This cream addresses all kinds of itches from bug bites to heat rash. It soothes the skin making it less likely you will scratch.
There are days when we know we will be in the sun all day and keeping sunscreen on while sweating is a challenge. On these days we take one of the pills which is basically sunscreen from the inside out. Our dermatologist told us about these pills years ago when we were mainly chartering boats.
This is another product that my dermatologist recommended to repair facial skin from sun damage.
Bonus Product: Aquaphor Healing Ointment – Dry Skin Moisturizer – Hands, Heels, Elbows, Lips
This inexpensive product was also recommended by my dermatologist to put on my lips and other dry cracked skin at night. It has been so helpful that I use it every night! It even works great on fresh scars. Ask me how I know—Haha!
